Verbosity

Some earthlings don't know the difference between talking and not talking because they have never experienced the latter.

Acknowledging suffering

Acknowledging the other fellow human being's suffering, past or present, is by far one of the most powerful things we can do. No analysing, explaining, or helping necessary.

The myth of sexy body transformations

The truth about "before and after".

In this case the simulachra did not even bother to move on to the next stage in any physical sense. Just a bit of preening and lighting. Result: thousands imbued with a get-a-sexy-body neurosis, mealtime guilt and a lifetime of unrealistic expectations.

Anthropomorphism in religion

Jesus is one of the many mental tools to bring God closer to human understanding, just like any other anthropomorphic or otherwise shaped gods and goddesses. In that sense, Islam is a much more advanced form of monotheism, because God is not made out to look like a human or have any particular shape comprehensible to the conventions and mental habits of the human mind. That sad, understanding Jesus in spirit, rather than pulling quotes from the Bible to suit one's own agenda, is what differentiates Christian spirituality (personal quest for God) from Christian religion (a social institution with everything that goes with it).

What fighting brings

"Fighting" anything just creates a far larger and more horrible version of whatever you are fighting (drugs, terrorism, depression, poverty, intolerance, prejudice, etc. ad nauseam).

What's my duty in life?

Healer and Teacher are my roles in life. I don't have answers for everything, but I have good, important questions to plant in my students' heads that, I hope, will get them going for the rest of their lives. Self-reflexivity and understanding things beyond the obvious is what I hope they will achieve, each in their own way. I am also very spiritually and psychoanalytically inclined and aware, so I often end up talking to people that way. I am planning to take up formal psychoanalytical training this year to keep helping people that way too, this time around professionally.
